Im Tanzfilm Spectator On Your Self thematisiert die*der Londoner Künstler*in K. Bailed die Autonomie von behinderten Menschen sowie Freude, Angst und Zusammenhalt. Die Live-Performance im Anschluss an die Filmvorführung ist eine Einladung, über Ableismus, Queercrip-Erfahrungen und tiefe Verbundenheit als möglichen Ausweg aus der Isolation nachzudenken.

In Anlehnung an den Synkretismus guatemaltekischer Mythen verschwimmen in Unloved Encounters, They Cling von Valentino Skarwan menschliche und nichtmenschliche Welten. Skarwans Performance erforscht die Figur des Formwandlers und lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf das, was ansonsten ungeliebt, vergessen oder übersehen wird.

Monster gelten gemeinhin als furchteinflößend und überlebensgroß. Andererseits stellen sie die uns zugewiesenen Grenzen, die von unserer Gesellschaft definierten Schönheitsstandards und Diktate infrage. I dream of you my friend von BORA in Zusammenarbeit mit Eloise Canavesio ist ein multimorphes Erlebnis, eine immersive und intime Reise in ein Universum, in dem Kreaturen, Monster und Engel koexistieren.

K. Bailed, alias Kat Hawkins, (dey/demm)
ist ein*e in London lebende Künstler*in und Researcher*in mit den Schwerpunkten Körper, Verfall, generative Bewegung und Crip-Immanenz. Deren interdisziplinäre und kinästhetische Arbeiten entstehen hauptsächlich in den Bereichen Film, Tanz und Schreiben. Die Crip-Erfahrung steht im Zentrum bei allem, was K. Bailed tut. Außerdem ist dey ein*e lebenslange Verfechter*in von Disability Justice.

Valentino Skarwan (dey/demm)
ist Künstler*in, Performer*in und Choreograf*in. Deren interdisziplinäre künstlerische Praxis bewegt sich zwischen Performance, Skulptur und Installation. Skarwan versteht Intimität als ein ökologisches Konzept und als eine Möglichkeit, die gegenseitige Verflochtenheit von menschlichen und nichtmenschlichen Wesen zu begreifen.

ist ein*e Formwandler*in und arbeitet in verschiedenen Medien, die zusammengenommen ein Universum bilden, in dem Fantasie für Aktivismus steht. Mittels digitaler Kreation, Installation, Sound und Performance erforscht dey imaginäre Landschaften als eine Möglichkeit, unsere Realität durch Zärtlichkeit zu navigieren.

Spectator On Your Self is a dance film by K. Bailed exploring disabled autonomy, joy, fear and connection. It is a look at ableism as a panopticon. Can we ever escape it? The answer remains unclear, yet it is accompanied by hopeful whispers of ‘yes’. The film screening will be followed by a live performance by K. Bailed. This offering invites the audience to reflect on the queer crip experience and how, alongside isolation, there is the potential for deep connection and kinship.
Echoing the syncretism of Guatemalan myths, Valentino Skarwan’s Unloved Encounters, They Cling blurs human and non-human worlds. Skarwan’s performance explores the figure of the shapeshifter and draws attention to that which is otherwise unloved, forgotten or overlooked.

Monsters are often seen as terrifying and larger than life. However, they also challenge the boundaries assigned to us, questioning the beauty standards and dictates our society defines. I dream of you my friend by BORA in collaboration with Eloise Canavesio is a multimorphic experience, taking you on an immersive and intimate journey into a universe where creatures, monsters, and angels coexist.

K. Bailed, aka Kat Hawkins, (they/them)
is an artist-researcher based in London with a focus on the body, decay, generative movement, and crip immanence. Their interdisciplinary and kinaesthetic work predominantly spans film, dance, and writing. The crip experience is central in all they do, and they are a lifelong student and embodier of disability justice.

Valentino Skarwan (they/them)
is an artist, performer, and choreographer whose practice unfolds through an interdisciplinary approach, moving across performance, sculpture, and installation. For Skarwan, intimacy operates as an ecological concept – a way to understand our interdependence with human and non-human entities.

BORA (they/them)
is a shapeshifter exploring different mediums that together form a universe where imagination is activism. A mirror of the present where one can reflect with a burning wish to open a space for queer representations. Through digital creation, installation, sound or performance, their body of work investigates imaginary landscapes as a way of navigating our reality through tenderness.
