dragonfly hakt sich in Routinen, verstößt gegen das Protokoll und flüstert uns Ungehorsam ein. Das Alltägliche wird zur Bühne einer Erprobung flexibler und zugleich kompromissloser Taktiken, um dominante disziplinierende Strukturen zu konfrontieren. Durch eine Live-Verhandlung der Beziehung von Körper, Objekten, Sound und Publikum begibt sich Jakob Wittkowsky auf die Suche nach möglichen strategischen Haltungen zwischen Trotz, Zögern, Klage und Unfug. Im Versuch, Bewegung und Bedeutung neu zu codieren, stellen sich Fragen nach Begehren, Rücksichtslosigkeit und Verantwortung. Ein chaotischer und doch präziser Tanz entlang der Grenzen des Rationalen.

Jakob Wittkowsky
ist Performer und Live-Artist. Vom Zirkus und von der klassischen Musik kommend war er zunächst als Sozialarbeiter und im Messebau tätig, bevor er über die Arbeit als Regieassistent zum Theater wechselte. Derzeit schließt er sein Studium der Choreografie an der School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam ab und arbeitet als persönliche Pflegekraft. Über die Arbeit mit Objekten, Performance, Musik, Tanz, Text und Improvisation stellt Wittkowsky Fragen nach der Rolle von Fiktion und Poetik beim Nachdenken über soziale Beziehungsformen und in der Erweiterung politischer Vorstellungskraft.

In einer Welt, in der Länder, Sprachen und Folklore längst zur Ware geworden sind, bietet nur noch Draußen Zuflucht, wobei die unberührte Natur nicht mehr die vorrangige Referenz dafür ist. Landschaften aus unebenen Dielenböden, Täuschungsspiegeln und rutschigen Stufen amüsieren uns und haben sich als profitabel erwiesen. Die geologische Zeit verrinnt bis zum völligen Verschwinden und lässt die menschliche Zeitlichkeit wie auf Speed erscheinen.
Ausgerüstet mit CDJs, einem Banjo und einem Kajak navigieren Netti Nüganen, Pire Sova und KISLING durch viele unterschiedliche Bedeutungen von „Örtlichkeit“. Was soll man von Ursprünglichkeit halten, wenn der Einfluss einer dominanten Kultur importierte Waren zu einem Teil des Brauchtums gemacht hat und gleichzeitig das Wort „lokal“ immer noch touristischen Mehrwert produziert? Ash, horizon, riding a house lädt das Publikum ein, sich eine Zugehörigkeit auszumalen, die vom momentanen Standpunkt aus nicht zu sehen ist. Man muss sie sich erst vorstellen.

Netti Nüganen (sie/ihr/Doomer)
stellt in ihren Performances eine Verbindung zur Vergangenheit her, um einen bewussten Blick auf die Gegenwart zu lenken, im Wunsch, die Perspektive auf die Zukunft zu erweitern. Indem sie alles Bekannte einer sorgfältigen Dekonstruktion unterzieht, formt sie das Geschichtenerzählen neu; mit dieser Methode agiert sie in den Lücken zwischen erkennbaren Zeichen und Sprache. Nüganens Arbeiten wurden u. a. bei den Festivals My Wild Flag, Batard, Pre-Urbaines, Lisbon Film Festival und ImPulsTanz sowie im Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, im Kanuti Gildi SAAL, in der Lewisham Art Gallery und im TQW gezeigt. Darüber hinaus tourt sie seit 2017 als Performerin mit Florentina Holzinger.

Pire Sova
ist Künstlerin, Bühnenbildnerin und ehemalige Stripperin. Ihre posthumanistische Kunstpraxis interessiert sich für Aspekte von Identität wie Gemeinschaft, kollektive Kreativität und Gender. Neben Performances organisiert sie Kunstevents und Festivals zu den Themen Umwelt und Gleichstellung. Sie ist Mitbegründerin einer partizipatorischen Performancereihe und des fluiden Kollektivs Persona. Ihre Arbeiten wurden u. a. bei NSFW, Online Gallery Gothenburg, Tallinna Art Hall, HOIB Gallery, EKKM Tallinn, Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Draakon Gallery und in zahlreichen Clubs gezeigt.

KISLINGs
stark von digitaler Technik geprägte Kompositionsmethode subtrahiert und morpht live aufgenommene Samples in konkrete Schnipsel, die eine „neue Realität“ vorschlagen. An einem Wendepunkt in der Geschichte, an dem geopolitische, soziale und ökologische Fragen in unser tägliches Leben eingreifen, beschwört KISLING ein Gefühl für das, was verloren gehen könnte. Sie arrangiert und verzerrt ihre Klänge auf einem Set von Pioneer CDJs und schafft so fantasievolles Material, das die Grenzen und das Versprechen von Musik hinterfragt. KISLING ist Mitbegründerin der Gruppe Guiding Light; sie trat u. a. bei Unsafe Sounds, The Glove That Fits, London, an der Volksbühne, Berlin, in der Kunsthalle Wien und im TQW auf.

dragonfly is hacking routines, warping protocols, and whispering quiet temptations of misbehaviour towards you. The everyday becomes the stage for a rehearsal of flexible yet uncompromising tactics that might serve to confront dominant structures of discipline. Through a live negotiation of the relationship between body, objects, sound, and audience, Jakob Wittkowsky explores possible strategic attitudes that oscillate between defiance, hesitation, lament, and mischief. In an attempt to recode movement and meaning, questions about desire, recklessness, and responsibility arise. A chaotic yet precise dance along the edges of the rational.

Jakob Wittkowsky
is a performer and live artist. With a background in circus and classical music, he first worked as a social worker and in trade fair construction before coming to the theatre, initially working as an assistant director. He is currently completing his choreography studies at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam and working as a personal care assistant. Through his work with objects, performance, music, dance, text, and improvisation, Wittkowsky raises questions about the role of fiction and poetics when reflecting on forms of social relations and expanding political imagination.

In a world where land, language and folklore have become commodities, the only place you’re ever invited back is outside – where the green world is no longer the primary reference. Landscapes amuse us with uneven floorboards, illusion mirrors, and trickster steps – proven to be profitable. The timing of geology, dripping into disappearance, makes the human temporality appear as-if on speed.

With CDJs, banjo, and a kayak, Netti Nüganen, Pire Sova, and KISLING navigate through many meanings of locality. How to think of nativeness when the influence of one dominant culture has made imported goods part of folklore, yet the word local still adds value when making choices as a tourist? Ash, horizon, riding a house invites the audience to envision a belonging: one that cannot be seen from here. It must be imagined.

Netti Nüganen (she/her/doomer)
uses the performative moment to question what forms of spectatorship are needed and what’s at stake. Establishing connections with the past, Nüganen forms an intentional look upon the present, wishing to extend the perspective towards the future. Treating everything known with careful deconstruction, she reshapes storytelling – using this method to operate in the gaps between recognisable signs and language. Nüganen’s works have been shown a. o. at festivals such as My Wild Flag, Batard, Pre-Urbaines, Lisbon Film Festival and ImPulsTanz and at KIM? Contemporary Art Centre, Kanuti Gildi SAAL, Lewisham Art Gallery and TQW. Next to that, she has been touring since 2017 with Florentina Holzinger’s performances.

Pire Sova
is an artist and stage designer, a former stripper, whose posthumanist art practice focuses on facets of identity such as community, collective creativity and gender. Next to working on performances and solo and group exhibitions, she organises art events and festivals on environmental issues and gender equality. She co-founded a participatory performance series and a fluid collective called Persona. Her works have been shown a. o. at NSFW, Online Gallery Gothenburg, Tallinna Art Hall, HOIB Gallery, EKKM Tallinn, Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Draakon Gallery, and various clubs.

KISLING’s
composition method, highly informed by digital processing and meant for contemporary DJ equipment, subtracts and morphs live recorded samples into concrete snippets that propose a ‘new real’. At a notable turning point in history where geopolitical, social and ecological issues press into our daily lives, KISLING invokes a feeling for what might be at loss. She arranges and distorts her tunes on a set of Pioneer CDJs, giving way to an imaginative material that scrutinises the limits and promise of music. KISLING is a co-founder of the group Guiding Light; she has performed a. o. at Unsafe Sounds, The Glove That Fits, London, Volksbühne, Berlin, Kunsthalle Wien and TQW.
